Firefly Valley Leisure Park is on the bank of River Johor or River Kota Tinggi. The entrance to the park is about 3 kilometres from the junction of Kota Tinggi Bypass and the road heading to Kota Tinggi Town. A few dinner packages are allowed inside the park and are strictly 100% free of beef and pork.
The entrance to Firefly Valley Park costs only MR1 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The ticket is really cheap. The first noticeable landmark inside the park is a wooden bridge, which is the entrance to Rabbit’s Farm. The farm is an island surrounded by water on all sides and connected only by the beautiful bridge. The name of the island – Love Island – is quite interesting. On the island farm, the many rabbits are accompanied by turkeys, ducks and other small creatures. Incredibly and amazingly, the animals seem to have unique language of communication with each other, especially ducks and rabbits.
You can also expect sight of some unique birds on Love Island. Iguanas are another creature on the island. They look deceptively dangerous but are adorable once you successfully break into their boundary.
There is a waterwheel as you walk on the bridge. The wheel does not have any vital function there and is intended to add to the beauty factor. The canal also has a small lovely wooden jetty and a boat tied to it on one side. Sadly no one rows that boat. It is unclear whether the leisure park authority allows you to ride the boat but no one seems to have asked for the favour.
The dining area is located next to the stream, which adds to the feeling of a peaceful and memorable lunch. The Firefly area is beyond the playground on the riverbank. The riverbank is wonderfully peaceful but humid.
The entry fee to the park excluding the dinner package is RM10 for all. Those who want to have dinner at the eatery inside the park have to shell out MR15.90 for adults and MR10.90 for children of 6 years or below.
