The park is located at a distance of 90 kilometres towards the south of the city centre of Johor Bahru.
The natural wonders and scenic beauties of Tanjung Piai have got together to become this magnificent and charming national park. You would find the beautiful mangroves that are wonderful for their resilience and have become the backbone to the sustainable growth of varied wildlife in the mangrove. The land is protected by the mangroves from being ruined by the fierce attacks of the sea in its wildest form.
The wildlife in the park adds to its beauty. The ever frolicking wide eyed mudskippers, the funny masques, the wild birds complete the beautiful world of nature. There are a number of platforms that have been built inside the park so as to allow a period of rest and relaxation to the visitors. The visitors get a vantage point from which they can observe the habitats of different birds and creatures.
There is no availability of direct bus to the national park from Johor Bahru. You can avail of taxi services from Pontian bus station located at the centre of the town to the entry point of Tanjung Piai in Sungai Belukang. It is however important to book a return trip with the cab driver to the town in advance. The national park can also be reached in car if you are at Kuala Lumpur. Take North South Expressway south past Machap and exit at Simpang Rangam, then head for Tanjung Piai on the normal road. The road will lead you through Benut, Pontain, and Kukup highways.
