The Johor Zoo happens to be amongst the oldest zoos of Malaysia. The zoo is frequented by locals and tourists who wish to witness the diverse wildlife of this exotic country. The animal feeding time and the bird shows are a must watch while at the zoo. A children’s playground along with paddle boats available for hire are also present. The eateries inside the zoo offer different types of snacks and meals at quite an affordable price.
However, due to poor maintenance, you can see cages that are rusty and streets that are dirty. It seems obvious that the management has lack of fund to run the zoo as the entrance fee is just RM2 for an adult and RM1 for a child.
The animals are not in abundance but the zoo has a natural setting. If you don’t see a lot of animals, taking a scroll in the premises is quite relaxing though.
